Texas Health to Relocate Freestanding Emergency Room in Plano, Texas
Lewisville, Texas (PRWEB) October 05, 2016 -- Texas Health Resources, one of the country’s largest non-profit health systems, will relocate its Plano freestanding emergency room facility in partnership with Adeptus Health in October.
“We are excited to be relocating to a new, larger facility in order to better serve the Plano community,” said Dr. Gregory Blomquist, Facility Medical Director of Texas Health Emergency Room Plano- Park.
Dr. Blomquist received his medical degree from Chicago Medical School in 1991. He completed his residency at UT Southwestern, Parkland Memorial Hospital where he remained on staff as an instructor until 1997. Prior to joining Texas Health ER, Dr. Blomquist practiced in area hospital emergency departments. He is board certified in both Internal Medicine and Emergency Medicine.
Texas Health’s freestanding emergency room will be a full-service emergency facility, licensed by the state, and open 24-7. Additionally, the new location will have full access to Texas Health’s network of physicians, specialists and advanced treatment options while ensuring seamless transfer for patients requiring inpatient or specialty care.
Different from urgent care centers, Texas Health Emergency Room facilities are open 24 hours a day, 7 days per week, and are staffed exclusively with board-certified emergency physicians and emergency trained registered nurses. The facilities are equipped with a full radiology suite, including CT scanner, Digital X-ray, Ultrasound, as well as on-site laboratories certified by the Clinical Laboratory Improvements Amendments (CLIA) and accredited by the Commission on Office Laboratories Accreditation (COLA).
