Free People, the well-known lifestyle brand, will open a new location in the King of Prussia mall on October 13, 2016. At 8,244 gross square feet, this store will be Free People’s largest to date. This location will feature the first in-store wellness and beauty shop. This opening is part of URBN’s one-of-a-kind retail experience at the Pavilion at the King of Prussia Mall which provides a unique opportunity to co-locate all brands in one location.
Free People King of Prussia will carry a wide array of clothing and accessories as well as expanded product categories and will also be the first store to carry FP Beauty & Wellness, an assortment of market products from makeup, skincare, haircare and fragrances. Customers can expect a large selection of casual day dresses from bold prints, sweater material, and sets will be available as well as a preview of “pre-holiday” sparkle pieces highlighting special occasion dresses. The store will also carry fall must-haves from denim, knits, sweaters and jackets. Intimately FP, Free People’s intimate’s line, will be on location as well as a strong assortment of shoes from boots, menswear inspired, fashion sneakers, heels and clogs. A selection of FP Movement, the brand’s collection of active wear, will be available from leggings, tops, sports bras, and more.
“Free People is excited to be tripling our current space into a new large format store in King of Prussia Mall. This expanded location will allow us to finally offer our customer the ability to shop a fuller ready to wear assortment, as well as movement, shoes and party dresses. We are also excited to have this store as the first to offer a full beauty and wellness selection,” said Beth Wehagen, Free People’s Director of Retail.
The new space is designed in the brand’s Studio concept. Highlighting the more rugged side of the Free People girl, the space is designed to feel like her personal studio workshop by featuring a mix of rugged elements and feminine details throughout. Shoppers will enter through two sets of bi-fold doors that are painted white with hand carved trim details and brass hardware. Beautiful carved wood columns adorn the façade along with sparkly mirror tiles at the alcove and a large brass ‘Free People’ backlit sign to welcome customers into the space. Inside the space, the palette is soft and light. Reclaimed wood flooring changes direction throughout to further delineate the store’s multiple shopping areas for easy customer navigation. Painted textured bricks, reclaimed white painted bead board, soft maple accents, plaster walls, and skylights help complement the studio theme, while hand carved elements and twinkle lights throughout further speak to the feminine aspect. 10 fitting rooms will be nestled towards the middle of the store featuring soft maple wood stud frames, dusty pink plaster walls, and special patchwork curtains with embroidered mirrors. Customers will be able to checkout through a central 5 POS cashwrap featuring a custom backwrap with carved shelves which displays the Free People girls’ most favorite collections.
The store will have an opening celebration on Thursday, October 13th from 6PM-9PM. Activities will include an elixir bar with SunPotion and a create your own mantra: word weaving with Aarona Ganesan. Light bites will be served by Vetri Family.
