Presdo, the creators of a networking app for live events, has released a brand new feature to improve the exchange of contact details for event-goers. Called “Business Card Exchange,” the new feature utilizes technology built into most smartphones to identify others within close proximity to exchange contact details (“digital business cards”) with just the tap of a button.
Business Card Exchange allows event participants utilizing the Presdo Match app to simply exchange digital business cards with other at events by displaying who’s nearby and ready for info exchange. One attendee makes a request to exchange and upon the other user approving the request, business cards are exchanged in approximately a second. Each attendee can control and customize the details on their own business card. After business cards are exchanged, users can:
- Add notes about their new contact, including the nature of the connection
- Set up quick follow-up reminders and notes
- Contact the other party directly via phone call or email
- View the profile of the contact, usually sourced from LinkedIn
- Save the contact details directly to the phone’s address book
- Export contacts via CSV file into CRM platforms, Microsoft Outlook, and other platforms
Advantages extend beyond the actual users of Business Card Exchange to the organizers putting on events. The feature provides organizers with a new layer of insight into the interactions of participants through the activity of exchanged business cards and the face-to-face relationships that have formed at their events.
