Kung Fu Saloon Honors the Late Arnold Palmer With Drink Sales Donation
Austin, Texas (PRWEB) October 05, 2016 -- One day after the late, great Arnold Palmer's memorial service, Kung Fu Saloon will be donating a percentage of their statewide drink sales directly to Arnie's Army Charitable Foundation, the nonprofit formed by Palmer that supports organizations that help children, youth, families and the communities and environments in which we live.
Everyone knows that Arnold Palmer's favorite drink was the perfect mix of iced tea and lemonade. To honor the golf legend, Kung Fu Saloon put their own Texas twist on it - serving up a combination of Deep Eddy Sweet Tea and Deep Eddy Lemon. Each of their 4 Texas locations (Downtown Austin, Austin in the Domain, Dallas and Houston) participated in the drink feature last week.
Kung Fu Saloon is no stranger to the giving spirit that Palmer portrayed throughout his career. With the opening of their first location in Downtown Austin, the company began their 'Drink 4 A Cause' initiative. The monthly event takes place on a specified Tuesday of each month. Local nonprofits are selected in advance and 15% of that evening's drink sales are turned around and donated back to the organization.
"Like Arnie's Army, we believe that we all develop a better outcome when we invest in the the well-being of the community," said managing partner Nick Adams "Our bars wouldn't have gotten to where they are without the support of the communities that surround them."
Kung Fu Saloon has donated over $250,000 through these monthly initiatives to recipients like the West Texas Fire Department who received $25,000 in 2013 from a statewide Drink 4 a Cause benefit. Additional beneficiaries have included Texas 4000, Habitat for Humanity, the Austin Sunshine Camps, Houston Rescue & Restore, the Human rights Campaign, Austin Pets Alive, the Children's Miracle Network, Houston's Be a Resource for Kids, and the Dallas Cotillion Club to name a few.
Kung Fu Saloon is expanding with their fifth location opening later this year in Midtown Nashville. This will be their first location outside of the state of Texas. They plan on bringing their charitable spirit to the Nashville area and hope to continue partnerships with the existing forces in that community.
