The “Grand Slam Indoor of Show Jumping” is a series is held in three major cities – Los Angeles, Paris and Hong Kong – bringing together the best riders in the world for a four day competition mixed with a unique cultural experience. The American leg of the series took place this weekend from September 29th to October 2nd at the Long Beach Convention Center.
Showcasing the world’s best equestrian riders, Saturday night’s competition brought two legendary competing classes to the course designed by Uliano Vezzani – the Emirates Gold Cup and the Pro-Am Style & Competition for Charity. Celebrity spectators included Kaley Cuoco, William Shatner, Selma Blair, Arianna Rockefeller and Izabella Miko. The weekend’s much anticipated charity event also included a celebrity jury composed of Miss USA 2015 Olivia Jordan, Lawrence Zarian and entertainment reporter Sam Rubin. Notable competitors included Steven Spielberg’s daughter, Destry Spielberg and Jane Richard-Phillips, who rode as samurai ninjas on behalf of Just World International.
Located in the heart of the Prestige Village, the event was nothing short of extravagant, with brands on display including Longines, Hermes and Lamborghini. Sunday afternoon’s Longines Grand Prix brought the weekend to a close, as riders competed for the chance to make history by taking home the new 2.25 million Euro Super Grand Slam Bonus.
