The NSDTA Annual Professional Institute runs October 15-18 in New Brunswick, New Jersey. FEI’s Business Solutions Engineer, Raquelle Solon, will be presenting the session, “Incorporating Trauma Informed Services into Violence Prevention Training,” on Oct. 16, 2016, at 1 p.m. EST. This session will discuss aspects of trauma informed care and best practices of incorporating this approach into organizational policies, procedures and practices. The workshop will discuss opportunities for building and enhancing crisis intervention teams and details surrounding trauma-specific intervention programs.

The IAEM Annual Conference runs October 14-19 in Savannah, Georgia. FEI’s Senior Director, Terri Howard, will present the session, “Preparing for the Worst: Cyber Terrorism and the Human Impact,” on Oct. 17, 2016, at 2 p.m. EST. This session will discuss the long-lasting and traumatic impact of cyber-attacks on employees, customers and businesses. Participants will learn specific steps for protecting their workforce and the elements of an effective response plan.

Solon is responsible for helping organizations determine and implement a holistic crisis management system. She also is responsible for the delivery of workplace violence prevention, leadership development, and crisis management trainings, and is experienced in reviewing current training and policies and procedures to identify gaps and work with clients towards a solution. Solon was named “Woman of the Year” for 2012-2013 by the National Association of Professional Women.

Howard is responsible for working with FEI corporate clients to ensure they are prepared for, can respond to, and recover from a crisis incident. She also coordinates the people support and psychological first aid services for those impacted by crises, and she is responsible for developing drills and exercises aimed at testing current plans and procedures. Over the years, Howard has contributed to several international standards and guidelines on crisis management and workplace violence prevention, including ASIS, a global community of more than 38,000 security practitioners, and the FBI.
