Kenney Machinery Corporation Becomes Distributor for NuTone Haven Mosquito Control Lighting System
Indianapolis, IN (PRWEB) October 10, 2016 -- As a turf equipment and irrigation distributor serving Indiana and Kentucky since 1904, Kenney Machinery Corporation has long been trusted by municipalities, universities, golf courses, and sports venues throughout the region to help keep their grass green and lush. Now, thanks to a partnership with America’s leading brand of residential built-in convenience products, clients will also be able to turn to Kenney Machinery for help protecting the public from disease-carrying pests through the use of a revolutionary system that combines mosquito control with landscape lighting.
The patented NuTone Haven mosquito control system delivers an odorless and invisible mosquito repellant vapor using a cartridge that is heated by the same low-voltage electrical source used to power LED landscape lighting. The cartridges are housed in a lighting fixture and are activated when the lights are turned on, providing mosquito protection over a wide area within 15 minutes. There is also a version of the system that operates independently of a lighting system for areas that require mosquito protection but not lighting. According to NuTone, in testing at sites located throughout the U.S. and Thailand, the system proved 92.5% effective against mosquitoes.
“With the threat of the Zika virus looming on the horizon, our clients are looking for affordable and effective ways to protect the public from mosquitoes”, said Mike Kenney, the CEO of Kenney Machinery Corporation. “With the NuTone Haven system, we can offer them a solution that is safe, non-disruptive, easy to use, and that doesn’t break the bank. It will give them an easy way to reassure their customers that they are being proactive about mosquito protection.”
While mosquitos have always been considered a nuisance, they are now a more serious public health threat with the arrival of the Zika virus in the U.S. Even though Florida is the only state that currently has reported locally-acquired cases, travel-related cases of Zika have been reported in all 50 states, with over 40 cases reported in Indiana and Kentucky. Golf courses, sports venues, parks, event venues, and college campuses that can demonstrate they are taking an aggressive approach to mosquito control will be in a much better position if and when Zika-carrying mosquitoes reach the Midwest.
In addition to offering the NuTone Haven mosquito control system directly to commercial clients and municipalities, Kenney Machinery will also distribute the system to residential customers through its network of local outdoor power equipment dealers. “We’re always looking for ways to give our dealers an edge over their local competitors”, said Dan Diehl, the Residential/Landscape Contractor Business Manager for Kenney Machinery. “The ability to offer the Haven system to residential users will be an excellent opportunity for our dealers to differentiate themselves, add value to existing customers, and bring new customers in the door.”
Kenney Machinery is currently offering the Nutone Haven to dealers and professional contractors for installation in the Indiana and Kentucky markets. Local retailers interested in becoming a dealer can contact Dan Diehl at 317-872-4793. For a professional contractor installation referral of Nutone Haven, contact Cliff Hankins at 317-714-5623.
