Historic Downtown San Pedro Hosts 5th Annual “Dia de los Muertos” Festival
San Pedro, CA (PRWEB) October 08, 2016 -- On Sunday, October 30, 2016, The San Pedro Property Owners’ Alliance, a non-profit organization, will present The 5th Annual San Pedro Dia de los Muertos Festival. With over 9,000 guests attending last year, this year San Pedro is expecting 10,000 guests to attend. Los Angeles and Orange County visitors will experience a vibrant downtown filled with a festive live entertainment lineup including a performance by the Grammy Award-winning group, Mariachi Divas, an all-female mariachi band based in Los Angeles.
With freshly prepared Latin American bites, guests can sample regional Mexican fare. Face painting, children’s area, handmade jewelry, clothing and other specialty items made by artisans will be available as well. Children can experience creating a Dia de Los Muertos souvenir at the free arts and crafts activity center.
Featuring uniquely designed altars at the Altars Competition and Exhibition and over 35 food and craft vendors, visitors are encouraged to come dressed in Dia de los Muertos themed costume and participate in the festivities. With a full entertainment lineup guests will enjoy live entertainment on the main stage featuring Mijo Entertainment DJ/MC, Salt Petal, Buyepongo, Mariachi Divas. Along with Grupo Folklorico del Mar, Grupo Folklorico Las Perlitas de Wilmington, Grupo Folklorico Nadino, and Mariachi Academy of Carson on the community stage, the sounds of contemporary and traditionally-inspired Mexican folklore music will be heard throughout the streets of downtown San Pedro. This free, family-oriented event will feature live entertainment, beer garden, delicious foods, crafts for kids, altar contest exhibition, and more!
