Business NH Magazine Names W.S. Badger One of "New Hampshire's Best Companies to Work For"
Gilsum, New Hampshire (PRWEB) October 07, 2016 -- Business NH Magazine and its partner NH Businesses for Social Responsibility have recognized the W.S. Badger Company as one of this year’s Best Companies To Work For in NH. Badger, the maker of certified organic and natural skin care products and a certified B Corp, is ranked Number 5 on the annual list, which is based on employees’ satisfaction with their workplace practices and benefits, and dependent upon at least 50 percent of employees completing a survey.
This is the first time Badger has been named one of the Top 5 Best Companies to Work For in NH—and the third time making the list for its innovative employee-centered programs and practices such as Babies at Work, extended paid parental leave, a company-run childcare center, and free organic lunches served daily.
“It’s an honor to be one of 17 NH companies recognized for creating a workplace environment that is respectful, supportive and focuses on the needs of all employees,” says Emily Hall Warren, Director of Administration at Badger. “We hope to serve as a model and an inspiration for changing the way people can and should work.”
For 20 years, Business NH Magazine and its partner, the NH Businesses for Social Responsibility, have recognized businesses that go out of their way to create fun and high engagement workplaces for their employees through the Best Companies To Work For competition. This year’s Best Companies To Work For showcase how developing a respectful, creative and supportive corporate culture can help a company succeed.
To celebrate the winners and the 20th year of the competition, Business NH Magazine and NH Businesses for Social Responsibility will host Breakfast With The Best on Oct. 27, 2016, at the Grappone Center in Concord. The event runs from 7:30 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. and will feature panels from the winning companies discussing best practices.
About W.S. Badger
Badger is the maker of certified organic and 100% natural body care products. Family run and family friendly since 1995, Badger was born when Badger Bill, a carpenter at the time, created a recipe of natural ingredients strong enough to soothe his rough, dry cracked hands. Now a team of over 90 employees, Badger produces more than one hundred products ranging from lip balms, hair oils and body moisturizers to mineral sunscreens and natural bug repellents. Recently, Badger was one of two New Hampshire businesses and 351 workplaces nationwide honored in 2016 with a When Work Works Award for its use of effective workplace strategies to increase business and employee success.
Inherent in Badger’s DNA is its status as a B Corporation, a certification earned through B Lab, a third party nonprofit that requires companies to meet rigorous standards of transparency as well as environmental and social performance. Badger has been a certified B Corp since 2011 and in 2015 became one of New Hampshire’s first businesses to register legally as a Benefit Corporation, a for-profit status that incorporates the pursuit of positive environmental and social impact in addition to profit.
