2016 has been a banner year for AvatarLabs for award nominations and wins.
Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) October 07, 2016
AvatarLabs, the award-winning, full-service digital agency that leads in innovation, design and technology for Fortune 500 corporate brands and the world’s top entertainment companies, has won two OMMA awards and three IAB MIXX Awards, and has been nominated for a Clio Key Art Award, all of which honor the firm’s outstanding creative work in digital marketing and advertising. The OMMA and IAB MIXX Awards were announced at individual dinner receptions and ceremonies last week during Advertising Week, an annual event in New York for marketing, brand, advertising, and technology professionals.
AvatarLabs was honored with two OMMA Awards: “Rich Media Campaign,” for the company’s work on season one of Narcos on Netflix; and “Home Page Takeover,” for Disney’s The Jungle Book 360° YouTube Masthead takeover. The OMMA (Online Marketing Media and Advertising) Awards were created over a decade ago and honor agencies and advertisers that push the potential of digital advertising.
The IAB MIXX Awards recognized AvatarLabs’ work in the “Display Ad” category, again with work for Narcos, which took the Gold prize and The Jungle Book creative nabbing Bronze. Finally, for work on Paramount Pictures’ Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation, AvatarLabs took Bronze in the Mobile - Branded Games category. The Interactive Advertising Bureau (IAB) hosts the IAB MIXX Awards to honor today’s best and brightest in digital advertising.
AvatarLabs was also named a finalist for the Clio Key Art awards in the ‘Banners & Rich Media Advertising’ category within the ‘Television/Streaming: Digital/Mobile’ medium and for the company’s work with Narcos. Winners will be announced at the 2016 Clio Key Art Awards gala held in Hollywood on October 20. Since 1971 the Clio Key Art awards have been the original and definitive distinction in creative communications for the entertainment business.
“I am consistently awed by the work that our AvatarLabs family imagines and executes for our clients, and to have this work recognized by the industry is meaningful for everyone that was involved in its creation,” said Rex Cook, CEO of AvatarLabs. “Breaking through the noise is harder than ever, but we are very grateful to work with some of the most creative minds in marketing, both at AvatarLabs and our clients, together trailblazing into tomorrow.”
Details about both campaigns:
- The Jungle Book - For the reboot of the family classic, Disney turned to AvatarLabs for an in-depth campaign that featured a 360° motion poster, expanded into a 3D 360° microsite, and culminated in a robust online media campaign that included a 3D WebGL banner. The 360° 3D microsite experience as a homepage takeover included amazing photographs and videos that grabbed viewers attention and lead them to back to the film’s website, where fans could engage on a deeper level.
- Narcos - To introduce domestic and international audiences to this epic drama, Avatarlabs worked closely with Netflix to deliver a suite of high-impact ad units with the flexibility to be dynamically adaptable to any market. Based on motion assets, key art and unit photography, the ads opened with impactful, elegant motion posters built from special-shoot footage. AvatarLabs created over 100 rich media units with dozens of dynamic variations for each, stoking anticipation and buzz for the show’s premiere.
2016 has been a banner year for AvatarLabs for award nominations and wins. In addition to the recent wins and nominations, the company has been recognized for client work with leading industry awards from the Webbys, ThinkLA and the Internet Advertising Competition (IAC) this year as well.
