BridgeWave Unveils Ultra-Low Cost, Ultra-High Capacity, Compact and Lightweight 80GHz System for Carrier and ISP Backhaul Networks

Flex4G-LITE, the first in a series of new millimeter wave radio systems, offers up to 3Gbps full duplex throughput, greater range, smaller size, lower power consumption, and reduced installation costs

BridgeWave Communications, a market leader and pioneer in wireless backhaul systems, today unveiled the BridgeWave Flex4G-LITE (FL4G-LITE), an ultra-low cost E-band (70/80GHz) millimeter wave system delivering up to 3Gbps full-duplex data throughput per radio. The FL4G-LITE is the first in a series of new BridgeWave radio systems designed to deliver unprecedented, bandwidth-rich capacity and fiber quality performance at industry-leading price points. The new FL4G-LITE enables aggregation, backhaul, and connectivity for networks supporting business and residential broadband, mobile and Wi-Fi backhaul, and HD video surveillance.

Supporting carrier networking features including CPRI protocol and with a lower MSRP than competitive radios offering less capacity, the FL4G-LITE all-outdoor radio is the clear choice for carriers and ISPs seeking to quickly scale deployments and increase subscriber revenue. Its lightweight, compact form factor, with a single optical interface carrying 2.5 Gbps of capacity, greatly simplifies deployment and minimizes installation and connectivity costs which are typically incurred with legacy systems that require multiple fiber runs. BridgeWave offers a wide range of antenna options for the FL4G-LITE including a 90cm antenna to maximize range and an integrated antenna (for ETSI markets) to further simplify installation. FL4G-LITE is the first 80GHz radio with the option of a higher gain 3-foot antenna, enabling operators to reach distances far beyond those of conventional E-band systems.

BridgeWave offers wireless backhaul radios supporting license-free 60GHz and lightly-licensed 70/80GHz millimeter wave systems, and licensed 6-38GHz microwave systems, all designed specifically to boost network capacity and ease network expansion. BridgeWave’s market leading and highly successful Flex4G-3000 radio, which is scalable from 1Gbps to an unprecedented 3.2Gbps per radio (6.4Gbps in a 2+0 configuration), is the platform for more new radios that will deliver up to 10Gbps throughput per radio, making the FLex4G series of products a true alternative to fiber. All BridgeWave systems have been designed specifically to meet the backhaul needs of carriers, ISPs, and enterprise networks worldwide.

The FL4G-LITE will be on display in the BridgeWave exhibits at two upcoming trade shows: WISPAPALOOZA (Booth 213), October 11-13, Las Vegas NV; and GITEX (Stand A1-32), October 16-20, Dubai. The product is available for immediate order and shipment.
