Envoy America and Lyft are now working together to give seniors, their families and business entities that serve them even greater flexibility in scheduling safe, reliable, cost effective and convenient transportation. By adding ridesharing services to its door-to-door accompanied transportation platform, Envoy America makes getting around even easier for those seniors that cannot drive or don’t want to drive themselves.

Lyft’s services will provide door-to-door accompanied transportation services through the Envoy America platform.

Envoy America, a comprehensive senior ride program that offers door-to-door accompanied transportation services for seniors, announced today that it has signed a partnership agreement with Lyft, the fastest-growing on-demand transportation service in the U.S., and has added Lyft’s Concierge Service to Envoy America’s suite of accompanied transportation service offerings. With Lyft Concierge, both individual clients and business entities using Envoy America’s platform for pre-scheduled door-to-door accompanied transportation services will now have the additional option of requesting traditional curb-to-curb rideshare services too.

Lyft’s services will provide door-to-door accompanied transportation services through the Envoy America platform. For example, the Envoy America driver companions — not Lyft drivers — will accompany a senior to a doctor’s appointment, stay with them, accompany them to a pharmacy or lab to do additional work, and perhaps take them to a grocery store and assist by taking items from the upper and lower shelves and placing them in the basket.

“We are thrilled that we are working with Lyft to help resolve the huge issue of safe and convenient senior transportation services in our communities,” said K. C. Kanaan, CEO and Co-Founder of Envoy America. “Lyft has such a well-respected and large following, and we’re happy to be using the Lyft Concierge service, and be a partner that could help fill an accompanied transportation need when Lyft is contacted by a senior who needs extra care and attention.”

“Working with Envoy America helps us increase the independence of elders who require curb-to-curb transportation,” said Gyre Renwick, head of healthcare enterprise partnerships, Lyft. “ At Lyft, our mission is to reconnect communities through better transportation, and working with Envoy America is one way we can expand the benefits of ridesharing to more and more people.”
