Atlanta Wrestling Entertainment debuts at the Opera Nightclub in Midtown Atlanta.

Since June of 2014, Atlanta Wrestling Entertainment (AWE) has been rebuilding the wrestling legacy in Atlanta.
AWE has featured many nationally recognized professional wrestlers, while also giving younger talents a place to hone their craft and work their way up the ranks of the sports-entertainment landscape. The unique style of wrestling that pays homage to Atlanta's legends of the past while using a more MMA influenced presentation has helped AWE create an underground phenomenon that has fans starting to remember how cool wrestling used to be.

The event at The Opera titled “The First Battle of New Atlanta features the Atlanta debut of international wrestling superstar Zack Sabre Jr, who is fresh off a final four appearance in the WWE Network’s Cruiser Weight Classic Tournament. Zack Sabre Jr. will be going one on one with former WWE NXT Star Martin Stone.

Other talent appearing are many of the best and brightest stars in Southeastern independent wrestling including Georgia Wrestling Crown Champion Jimmy Rave, Kerry Awful, Nick Iggy, Anthony Henry, The Hierarchy, former NCAA National Champion Josh Woods, and more. This show will feature 8 matches and a battle royal that has been dedicated to late Atlanta entertainment icon, Shawty Lo.

“This is a great opportunity for wrestling fans in Atlanta to enjoy wrestling in an upscale nightclub environment and likewise it will be great for fans of the Atlanta nightclub scene to enjoy a more grown up vision of pro wrestling,” said promoter Josh Wheeler.

In addition to fantastic in ring action, Atlanta Wrestling Entertainment shows like to have a party atmosphere, and have featured a full bar with specialty cocktails provided by regular sponsors SKYY Vodka and Electric Monkey Energy.

“It’s always nice to celebrate a win with a pint at the bar with all the mates that come and support me and AWE, and this event will be one of my biggest moments of my career,” Martin Stone commented.

The action starts at 6:05 on Sunday, October 23rd at Opera Nightclub 1150 Crescent Ave NE
Tickets are available at AWEFirstBattle.brownpapertickets.com and start at $20
