Chesapeake Vein Center and MedSpa is proud to announce that medical director Dr. Surya Challa has received a vascular testing accreditation from the Intersocietal Accreditation Commission (IAC). This allows Dr. Challa to monitor any unhealthy changes to the blood vessels that may lead to future diseases or conditions.

For more than 25 years, the IAC has set the standards for quality medical care, and is the premier accreditation agency for venous testing. Their accreditation represents a “seal of approval,” so patients can know that their doctor has the necessary expertise and experience for proper treatment. For approval, a practice must submit to a rigorous review of their daily operations and exhibit dedication to top quality patient care.

Vascular testing at Chesapeake Vein Center and MedSpa can help to identify and evaluate developing circulatory problems such as plaque build-up in the arteries, varicose veins, and the formation of blood clots. These factors can lead to life-threatening conditions like strokes and heart disease, making early detection of the utmost importance.

“You can’t treat conditions you don’t know about,” says Dr. Challa. “And in some cases early detection really can make all the difference for a healthy recovery.”

More than 500,000 lives are lost to heart diseases in the United States each year. With his IAC accreditation Dr. Challa is striving to reduce this number, and help his Chesapeake area patients lead healthy and happy lives. Anyone who is at high risk for heart disease due to genetic or other factors should ask their doctor about receiving vascular testing at Chesapeake.
