Boston, MA (PRWEB) October 17, 2016 -- Harvard Business Publishing has released a new version of the Global Supply Chain Management Simulation. Updates to this popular online simulation include an improved user experience and design, modernized product options, and enhanced debrief tools for instructors.
In the Global Supply Chain Management Simulation V2, students design and manage the supply chain of a global phone manufacturer. Students select mobile phone features, forecast demand, choose a set of suppliers with different costs, lead-times, and capacities, and allocate production among their chosen suppliers. At the end of each round, students receive feedback on their performance from the Board of Directors. The simulation teaches concepts in supply chain design, demand forecasting, resource allocation, and production planning. One instructor who tested the new version said, “These improvements make [Global Supply Chain Management] more modern and updated.”
Authored by Janice H. Hammond, the Jesse Philips Professor of Manufacturing at Harvard Business School, the simulation is delivered entirely online via the Harvard Business Publishing for Educators website. “We are excited to provide students with a fully updated user experience, in addition to increased stability and accessibility,” said Maureen Betses, Executive Vice President of Higher Education at Harvard Business Publishing. “The new version of the simulation will improve student understanding of key concepts in supply chain design and product management for an even wider audience.”
Global Supply Chain Management Simulation V2 is 1 of 22 simulations available on the Harvard Business Publishing for Educators web site. Online simulations present real-world management challenges for students and encourage classroom interaction and discussion. Results are available immediately for a comprehensive debrief session. All simulations include a detailed Teaching Note. Global Supply Chain Management Simulation V2 is ideal for MBA- and executive-level students in courses on Supply Chain Management or Operations Management.
The Global Supply Chain Management Simulation V2 simulation meets Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.0.
