Augie’s Quest Ride the Wave to a Cure for ALS at the 11th Annual Tradition of Hope Gala
Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) October 13, 2016 -- Augie’s Quest, an aggressive, cure-driven effort focused on finding treatments and cures for ALS, announced that the 11th anniversary Tradition of Hope Gala will be held on October 15, 2016 at the Beverly Hilton Hotel. The Tradition of Hope Gala is a cocktail charity event which funds ALS research being done at the ALS Therapy Development Institute.
News anchor and co-host of NBC News’ TODAY, Natalie Morales will emcee this year’s Tradition of Hope Gala along with entertainment from Californian musician and surfer, Donavon Frankenreiter, who will perform songs from his latest album “The Heart”.
In addition, awards will be presented to acknowledge the exceptional work done by people affiliated with Augie’s Quest. Patrick Fuscoe, founder and CEO of Fuscoe Engineering, Inc., will be honored with the 2016 Founders Award for his constant support of Augie’s Quest since its inception. Chris Mehess will be presented with the Courage award. Chris was diagnosed with ALS in August 2015, and shared his inspirational story through a video produced by LA Fitness which helped raise almost $50,000 for Augie’s Quest earlier this year.
Fuscoe is looking forward to accepting his award, saying, “I am so lucky to be a friend of Augie and to be a part of his life, both personally and through Augie’s Quest and the ALS Therapy Development Institute. The Institute is practical, efficient, and gaining ground on this disease!”
Augie Nieto, founder of Augie’s Quest, chairman of ALS Therapy Development Institute and person with ALS said, “The Tradition of Hope Gala is one of my favorite nights each year because we have the privilege of honoring people that truly impact our quest to find a cure for ALS. Pat Fuscoe is a great leader, a great man, and an incredible friend. Chris Mehess is an inspiration to all of us in how he lives his life with ALS. He's an extraordinary dad, husband and man."
The Tradition of Hope is sponsored by The Pyle Family, RD Olson Development, Fuscoe Engineering, Inc., College Works Painting and Jiffy Lube: Car Maintenance and Servicing.
