Sherburne County Government Center Expansion and Renovation Construction is Underway
Elk River, MN (PRWEB) October 13, 2016 -- Adolfson & Peterson Construction (AP) is underway with construction on the Sherburne County Government Center Expansion and Renovation project. With a solid, long standing relationship dating back to 1997, this project marks the fifth Government Center expansion AP has performed for Sherburne County.
Preconstruction for the expansion and renovation began in May 2016, with construction commencing in August 2016. This project includes a 90,000 sf court addition, housing five courtrooms (with space for two additional courtrooms), County Attorney, Court Administration, Probation, Judges Chambers and Secure Holding. Once complete, the 134,000 sf Government Center will be remodeled to expand the remaining departments including Health and Human Services, Administration, IT, Public Works, Auditor/Treasurer, Planning/Zoning and the Sheriff. Included in the remodel is the replacement of mechanical and electrical infrastructure and the addition of a cooling tower at the central plant.
Sherburne County is the 11th fastest growing county in the State of Minnesota, which has led to the need for additional space in most departments. Construction is on track and schedule to be completed by summer 2018.
