U.S. Congressman Peter Roskam (R-IL 6th District) recently visited Advanced Technologies Group (ATG), a JLL Company, at their Chicagoland office to learn how the company works with healthcare systems and higher education organizations to improve business planning and enhance operational performance. As a member of the House Ways and Means Committee, Congressman Roskam sits on the Health Subcommittee and chairs the Oversight Committee, which regularly focuses on reducing costs and improving efficiencies.
ATG executives described how the company helps hospital systems across the U.S. to standardize processes within the physical plant, mitigate risk, and optimize utilization of resources. These strategies work to improve healthcare environments and facilitate the delivery of care; both are issues of interest to the congressman. In his work on the Health Subcommittee, Mr. Roskam supports patient-centered care and the reduction of healthcare costs.
The wide-ranging conversation touched on several topics, including:
- How technology can create a more efficient environment of care
- The way progressive healthcare systems have modernized how they comply with regulations to retain accreditation
- That healthcare administrators can now include facility data to make informed decisions about a hospital’s overall business model
Mike Hakbaz, President of ATG, commented on the visit: “Representative Roskam shares a common view with ATG that bringing efficiencies to the non-clinical side of healthcare is a key component to shaping the future of the industry.”
The Congressman also met with dozens of ATG employees in a “town hall” forum and shared his view that healthcare systems and regulators must work together to provide a safer and smarter physical environment that will improve patient care and drive operational efficiencies across the industry.
For nearly 30 years, ATG has provided healthcare and higher education institutions across the U.S. with the mission-critical knowledge to better manage their facilities – supporting planning, design, regulatory compliance, yield and risk management. Servicing more than 300 million square feet of facility space, ATG clients can access and act upon accurate information in real-time through cloud-based solutions, leading to more informed decisions that raise the performance and efficiency of space, operations, and personnel. ATG is the Measure of Innovation. The company was acquired by JLL in 2016. (http://www.atginc.com)
