San Jose, Calif. (PRWEB) October 17, 2016 -- Today Acer updates its award-winning Chromebook 15 lineup with new models that include a large 15.6-inch display, now at an even more affordable starting price of only $199.
In addition to providing a large HD display, the new model Acer Chromebook 15 (CB3-532) delivers up to 12 hours(1) of battery life for fun and productivity that lasts beyond work and school into the evening. The Chromebook 15 (CB3-532) is slated to provide additional capabilities thanks to planned support for Android apps via the Google Play™ Store.
“The new Acer Chromebook 15 is going to be a big hit with holiday shoppers this year – it combines the most sought-after features – a large display and incredibly long battery life – at a price that makes it a desirable and affordable gift,” said Chris Chiang, AVP Mobility, Acer America. “The Acer Chromebook 15 was a game-changer when it debuted in 2015 – and now we’re able to provide the winning combination of large display, long battery life and affordable price to even more customers.”
According to data from Gartner(2), Acer Group is the world’s leading Chromebook brand with over 33 percent market share in 2015.
Large, Vibrant Display is Ideal for Movies, School and More
The Acer Chromebook 15’s stunning 15.6-inch display makes viewing websites, video and games even more enjoyable. The large size also increases productivity by giving customers additional real estate to view multiple tabs and apps. The LED backlit Acer ComfyView display has an HD 1366x768 resolution with anti-glare properties that minimize the amount of reflecting light for less strain on the eyes.
To complement the large display, the Acer Chromebook 15 has two full-sized upward facing speakers and high-definition audio support. The speakers provide enhanced volume and audio range, resulting in more realistic and immersive multimedia, games and music.
The display is ideal for use with the HD web cam with high dynamic range imaging support to provide clear, crisp video for video chats and Google Hangouts. The large display makes room for a roomy full-sized keyboard as well as a large touchpad, so customers have greater freedom when navigating, zooming and scrolling.
All-Day Battery Life Backed by Solid Performance
Customers will be able to enjoy all-day productivity, fun and enjoyment; the Acer Chromebook 15 provides up to 12-hours of battery life.(1) This exceptionally long battery life is ideal for students, families, and anyone who plans to use their Chromebook on the go, around the office or at home.
Acer’s newest Chromebook delivers solid performance for running multiple apps, websites and online games. It is powered by an Intel Celeron N3060 processor and has fast eMMC storage for fast boots and saving data locally.
The Acer Chromebook 15 also comes with 100GB of Google Storage, so customers have ample room to save their documents, photos and more. Storage on Google Drive(3) protects files, documents, and photos safely in the cloud, and ensures that the most current version of the file or document is always available and safe, even if the Chromebook is lost or stolen.
Chrome is Secure, Easy to Use and Share
Running on Chrome OS, the Chromebook 15 is great for a range of customers who view, edit, create and collaborate both on-line and off-line using Office documents and Gmail. Chromebooks are simple to use and ideal for sharing by multiple users, since users can log into their own account to access Docs, website bookmarks and other information. Security is a key benefit of the Chrome OS, as it’s automatically updated to guard against ever-changing online threats. In addition, the Supervised Users feature helps get children online in a safe, controlled way.
Since Chrome OS is continually updated, new features are always being added. The Chromebook 15 (CB3-532) is scheduled to receive updates that will allow the installation of Android apps via the Google Play™ Store.
Connectivity in a Durable Design
The Acer Chromebook 15 keeps customers in touch with up to three times faster wireless connectivity with 802.11ac WiFi(4) featuring MIMO 2x2 technology (dual band 2.4GHz and 5GHz).
