Three-Month Charitable Shoe Campaign to Support Cleft Surgery for Children Around the World

With the holiday season around the corner, Therafit Shoe, a women’s charitable comfort shoe brand, today announced its new campaign, “Season of Giving” and its partnership with the world's largest cleft charity, Smile Train and fashion and lifestyle blogger, entrepreneur and professional model, Kristen Taekman. The campaign aims to gift smiles to children in need around the world, all while providing comfortable and great-looking shoes to women during this festive season. The campaign kicks off today and will run through December 31, 2016. Therafit will donate 20 percent of sales from each pair of shoes purchased when you select ‘Smile Train’ as your charity at checkout.

Millions of children in developing countries with untreated clefts live in isolation, but more importantly, have difficulty eating, breathing and speaking. Cleft repair surgery is simple, and the transformation is immediate. Smile Train's sustainable model provides training, funding and resources to empower local doctors in the developing world to provide 100%-free cleft repair surgery and comprehensive cleft care in their own communities.

“We admire the great work that Smile Train does to help children with clefts around the world and are excited to be working them to help raise awareness and funds over the holiday season,” said Moises Egozi, CEO of Therafit. “As a brand that creates shoes for the busy modern day woman, Kristen Taekman represents who we are as a brand and with her support of Smile Train and the campaign we hope to provide many new smiles to children in need.”

Combining fashion with comfort and technology, Therafit shoes offers an extensive line of casual shoes, athletic sneakers, boots, and sandals for women on the go. With multiple solutions for foot, knee, leg and back pain, Therafit has received a seal of approval by the American Podiatric Medical Association. Therafit is a Certified B Corporation and gives a percentage of each shoe sale to partnering charities such as Smile Train.

For the “Season of Giving” campaign, Smile Train ambassador Kristen Taekman has joined forces with Therafit to help raise money for children with clefts. “The holidays are a perfect time to give back to those in need and through the money raised, Smile Train will be able to give children around the world something extra special to smile about this holiday season,” said Taekman.
