The ‘Spa Atelier’ is a unique concept which will further complement the treatments and philosophy of the spa via a series of specifically designed educational workshops for guests to participate in. Tailored to aid a variety of ailments and needs, these custom-made workshops will be inspired by local Mexican culture and based upon the principles of ancient Ayurvedic medicine. With a selection of interesting and informative courses on skincare, nutrition, aromatherapy, water and tea rituals, there will be something suitable for all guests, including couples and little ones.
With serenity and wellness at the forefront of the design inspiration, the spa at Grand Velas Los Cabos will be split over two-levels and span an impressive 35,000 square ft. Featuring the latest technology and wellness products available, there will be 16 spacious treatment rooms, including a selection of treatment rooms with direct ocean views. A guided water journey, kids’ and teens’ treatments, bridal suite, salon, and barber shop will also be available.

The Tea Party
Using both tisanas (herbal tea infusions) and whole leaf teas, guests will have the opportunity to learn how combinations of tea and natural ingredients can be beneficial for the body. Tea leaves, herbs, spices and fruit can have contrasting effects on the body.
Healthy Kids Aromatherapy
This workshop allows guests to create child-friendly essences that can be combined and used for a wide array of purposes. Combinations can be made up to help children to relax at bedtime for example as well as many other beneficial functions to help children go about their daily lives.
Couples Workshop
Two distinct couples’ workshops will take place in the realm of Spa Atelier. One will boost a couples’ existing connection and the other will aim to potentiate the couples’ love for each other, both, however will be bespoke to what each couple would like to gain and learn from the workshop. Guiding the couple through massage and infusion creations should aid all dimensions of a relationship, ultimately improving a couples’ already existing bond.
Custom Dosha Exfoliation
Guests can have the unique opportunity to create custom exfoliations depending on their Dosha, a central concept of Ayurvedic medicine wherein health exists when there is a balance between three energies: Vata (space and air), Pitta (fire and water) and Kapha (earth and water). Each exfoliation will be carefully crafted to the needs and desires of the guest based on this ancient Ayurvedic practice.
All workshops will be between 50 – 80 minutes long, taking place in the Spa Atelier space by the entrance of the spa. Some workshops will be offered on a complimentary basis whereas others will be available at an extra cost.
