Magnetic 3D, the industry leader in glasses-free 3D solutions, today announced the appointment of Don Mathison as Executive Vice President of Strategic Partnerships. The award winning company uses glasses-free 3D technology to deliver high impact, immersive media solutions for point of sale applications, trade shows, events, experiential marketing campaigns and Digital-Out-of-Home (DOOH) media networks. The patent-protected technology puts the 3D glasses on the TV instead of the viewer and will in due time be available to consumers.
Mathison is a familiar figure in the media world having worked in senior marketing and programming positions for some of the leading communications conglomerates, including Time Warner, Providence Journal, Times Mirror, Group W and Media General. At Media General he was responsible for one of the industry’s earliest cable advertising interconnects in the Washington, D.C. market.
Prior to his involvement with Magnetic 3D, Mathison’s consultancy group engaged with major media companies and maintained a special emphasis in the Video on Demand, interactive communications and over-the-top (OTT) space. He was an early proponent of Internet video (IPTV) and negotiated the first programming contracts that now benefit the growing broadband video industry.
