MrktServ Reaches 20,000 Unique Product Categories in Automotive Data Catalog
Rolling Meadows, Illinois (PRWEB) October 18, 2016 -- In order to drive assortment online for the automotive industry, MrktServ Holdings Inc. realized that the fundamentals of data and content management would have to be completely altered. This meant building an industry-wide data catalog from scratch that would focus on meeting consumer web user experience expectations, while leveraging a master system as the primary master driver.
In early October 2016, MrktServ Holdings Inc. reached their milestone of over 20,000 unique product categories. These product categories will encompass the entire automotive industry into one master catalog, including any market segments or related categories.
CEO Ken LeBlanc explains, “What’s unique about these product categories is that they represent what an entire aggregation of categories could be together, all working as one to drive sales. These categories provide a strong reflection of the depth of product types, also known as item classes, against all market segments that exists in the industry today. This is significant in that this aggregation has never been done before and delivered through retail web experiences.”
MrktServ Holdings Inc. commenced with its industry initiative by identifying main product categories and subcategories in each market segment. From reviewing the existing product information exchange standards (PIES), MrktServ Holdings Inc. then identified what it would take to merge or expand on within its new catalog. “For us to deliver on the assortment demand, ranging from 10 million skus and up, our systems were built to not be limited by demand of information or sku counts that may arise in the future,” LeBlanc adds.
Now that the company has met this milestone, MrktServ Holdings Inc. continues to make headway by moving on to the next step with its system. “This milestone is only the beginning as we now work on the second phase of overlaying a master attribute system to all item category classes. Due to the volume and depth of categories and item classes, our next goal is to load everything into our master database platform, in preparation of data and content accumulation for our targeted efforts with retailers launching in Q1,” concludes LeBlanc.
