With ‘Fast 50’ Nod, SeQuel Response Completes Awards Trifecta for Third Straight Year

Direct marketing agency SeQuel Response today announced that the Minneapolis-St. Paul Business Journal ranks it the No. 7 fastest growing private company in the Twin Cities, citing revenue growth of 146% over the past two years. SeQuel’s 2015 revenue was $27 million, up from $11 million in 2013. This marks the third consecutive year in which the publication has named SeQuel to its “Fast 50” list. The agency was ranked No. 18 last year.

“This award is simply a reflection of the growth that we’re helping our clients achieve,” said SeQuel’s VP of Business Growth Strategy, Tim Finley. “The brands we represent are scaling their direct mail and digital marketing programs at staggering rates, because our team continues to find more cost-effective ways for them to acquire more customers.”

Two other honors came to SeQuel for the third straight year in 2016. Inc. Magazine once again named SeQuel to its “Inc. 5000” list of the fastest growing private companies in the country, this time ranking SeQuel at No. 1639, up 60 spots from the year prior. The firm also remained on MSPBJ’s list of “Top Ad Agencies,” now sitting at No. 9 in a renowned Twin Cities advertising space.

“It’s worth noting that in that span where we’ve experienced such exciting growth, we’ve also nearly tripled our employee headcount,” said Jay Carroll, SeQuel’s Co-Founder & Chief Operating Officer. “There are almost 30 of us now, and the more people we hire, the more important it becomes for us to go after talent of the same caliber as the original six we had on day one in January 2010. Thankfully, so far, so good.”

SeQuel projects finishing this year at nearly $40 million in revenue, a 40-percent increase from 2015. With the addition of a digital marketing arm in 2016, Carroll says he has reason to believe SeQuel will continue its current trajectory.

“The digital arena exponentially increases our prospect universe,” Carroll said. “We’re no longer restricted to chasing only companies that want to optimize or launch a direct mail program. And by taking those time-tested direct-response fundamentals into digital marketing channels, we plan to move the needle with an integrated strategy.”
