The Senior Charity Care Foundation selects Aaron Hofmann, MD, as the 2016 Continuum of Caring recipient
Salt Lake City, UT (PRWEB) October 18, 2016 -- The Senior Charity Care Foundation, a nonprofit organization that provides financial assistance to seniors in care facilities, selects Aaron Hofmann, MD, board certified orthopedic surgeon, director of the Center for Precision Joint Replacement at Salt Lake Regional Medical Center and founder of the Hofmann Arthritis Institute, as the 2016 Continuum of Caring recipient, an award given to those who demonstrate strong support for the senior population.
Hofmann, along with his daughter, Erin Hofmann, the president of Total Joint Orthopedics, was honored at this year’s Hope Benefit, which was held on October 13, 2016 at The Tower at Rice-Eccles Stadium. The Hope Benefit is organized by The Senior Charity Care Foundation to raise awareness and funds for the purpose of supporting charity care for seniors in care settings who cannot afford the total cost of care and/or services.
“Our foundation appreciates the commitment to care and support demonstrated by Dr. Hofmann,” said Beth Ehrhardt, president of Senior Charity Care Foundation. “Nominations for the Continuum of Caring Award are gathered from past award recipients, sponsors, and friends of the Hope Benefit. The friends will then select potential nominees for final review and approval by the board of directors.”
Aaron and Erin Hofmann have dedicated a lifetime of service to uninsured and underinsured patients, many of which are a part of the senior population, through Operation Walk USA and Operation Walk Utah. This private, not-for-profit organization provides free surgical treatments to patients with debilitating arthritis or other bone and joint conditions in developing countries and the United States. Medical supplies and equipment used by Operation Walk are provided through donations, and the entire medical team volunteers its time and services.
Additionally, The Senior Charity Care Foundation honored JoAnn B. Seghini, mayor of Midvale, with the Cornerstone Award and Emma Houston, Salt Lake County’s director of diversity affairs, with the Trailblazer Award.
