Allegis Partners Places Monique J. Nolk on the Board of Girl Power 2 Cure, Inc.
Houston, TX (PRWEB) October 20, 2016 -- Allegis Partners, a global executive search firm, announced today that it has placed Monique J. Nolk as a board member of Girl Power 2 Cure, Inc., a 501c3 nonprofit organization dedicated to providing family support, awareness, education and funds for treatments and a cure for Rett Syndrome, a devastating neurological disorder that almost exclusively affects girls.
Rett Syndrome is caused by a single gene mutation that leads to underproduction of an important brain protein. Baby girls are born “normal”but begin to lose acquired skills between the ages of one and three years old – most cannot speak, walk or use their hands. It is as prevalent as Cystic Fibrosis, ALS and Huntington’s. Girl Power 2 Cure is committed to making Rett Syndrome a reversible neurological disorder by helping families and volunteers organize fundraising events and raising awareness of the need for research and education, as well as supporting families with resources needed to care for their daughters.
As a board member, Monique will share responsibility for communicating and promoting Girl Power 2 Cure’s mission and programs to the community; fundraising and outreach; organizational leadership and advisement of the board of directors, officers and committees; formulation of policies and procedures; program planning and evaluation; and financial management oversight.
Monique is Vice President, Integration Strategy & Operations – Enterprise Group at Hewlett Packard Enterprise in Houston, and has extensive experience negotiating and leading complex strategic initiatives cross-functionally at all levels of an organization.
The board search was handled on a pro bono basis by Hang Bower, Managing Director of Allegis Partners in Houston.
