Wellcoaches Joins as Founding Member of the American College of Lifestyle Medicine Corporate Roundtable
St. Louis, MO (PRWEB) October 19, 2016 -- The American College of Lifestyle Medicine (ACLM), the nation’s medical professional society for physicians, allied health professionals and healthcare executives dedicated to a lifestyle medicine-first approach to healthcare, today announced Wellcoaches as a Founding Member of the Lifestyle Medicine Corporate Roundtable (CRT).
In the face of an epidemic of chronic, largely preventable disease, ACLM established the Lifestyle Medicine Corporate Roundtable, bringing together foresighted entrepreneurial, industry, medical and academic thought leaders for strategic collaboration focused on advancing the lifestyle medicine movement. The end goal: sustainable health and sustainable healthcare.
“We can promote healthful lifestyle choices, but old habits too often die hard without the integration of science-based behavior change and coaching psychology added to the mix," said ACLM President David Katz, MD. "No one does this better than Wellcoaches in their training of health coaches to become integral members of the lifestyle medicine practice team, so their addition to the Lifestyle Medicine Corporate Roundtable is invaluable."
“Since Wellcoaches launched in 2002, more than 10,000 health professionals in nearly 50 countries have completed our Core Coach Training program. By applying coaching skills, health care professionals dramatically improve patient outcomes across diverse clinical and corporate settings. The Wellcoaches coaching protocol is evidence-based and reported in multiple peer-reviewed papers. We are pleased to become a member of ACLM’s Corporate Roundtable to share our mutual passion and vison of building the field of Lifestyle Medicine,” said Margaret Moore, CEO Wellcoaches Corporation.
ACLM’s Corporate Roundtable is comprised of lifestyle medicine thought leaders representing healthcare delivery system stakeholders, as well as providers of products and services that are committed to the cause of lifestyle medicine. The roundtable provides a platform for engagement with ACLM leadership and partners in charting strategy around key lifestyle medicine initiatives, including a campaign to call out the urgent need for reimbursement of intensive therapeutic lifestyle medicine interventions, as well as a campaign to heighten awareness about lifestyle medicine being a vital solution in addressing global health and healthcare sustainability.
