American Group Travel Awards Join St. Jude in the Fight Against Cancer
West Palm Beach, Florida (PRWEB) October 21, 2016 -- The American Group Travel Awards (AGTA) recognize the top organizations and individuals in North America for delivering the highest quality of services and experiences to group travelers. There are 25 outstanding award categories ranging from Best Group Hotel Brand and Best Group Cruise Line to Best Group Destination.
AGTA was created in 2013 by HotelPlanner and Meetings.com, the largest seller of online group travel in the world and premier site for meeting and event planning. The third annual awards show will take place at the Diamond Horseshoe Theatre at the Paramount Hotel in New York City on November 14, 2016. The evening will be hosted by MSNBC talk show host and independent film producer, Dylan Ratigan, who believes "AGTA & EGTA celebrate the world’s best in bringing people together, I can't think of a worthier beneficiary of that celebration or a more meaningful reason to come together than for St. Jude's."
Included in the evening’s events is a charity fundraiser, held to support the tremendous efforts to end childhood cancer. By donating to St. Jude at the event, attendees will participate in the Diamond and Champagne Raffle and have the opportunity to win a 1 karat diamond or a magnum of champagne. AGTA is pleased to announce that all proceeds of this year’s Diamond and Champagne Raffle will be donated to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
St. Jude’s is a nonprofit medical treatment and research facility focused on changing the way the world understands, treats and cures childhood cancer and other life-threatening diseases. It is the only National Cancer Institute devoted solely to children. Treatments developed at St. Jude have helped increase the overall childhood cancer survival rate from 20 percent to 80 percent since the hospital opened in 1962.
“I had the opportunity to visit St. Jude’s as a part of our partnership with the AutoZone Liberty Bowl and have since been excited to give back to such an inspiring foundation” stated Tim Hentschel, CEO of HotelPlanner.com. “We are honored to bring them in as a recipient of AGTA fundraising proceeds as well as introducing them to the annual Hotels.com Fairway to Wellness Charity Golf Tournament.”
Emmy-Winning producer, Critically-Acclaimed Author and AGTA supporter, Andrew Jenks, says "AGTA is brings together incredible people. What makes this truly special is how we will come together to support one of country's finest institutions, St. Jude's, dedicated to ending cancer once and for all."
Feature film-maker, owner of Open Pictures and AGTA attendee, Chip Rosenbloom, states “I am so pleased that our friends at AGTA have chosen to honor the great work of St. Jude’s Children Hospital. There is nothing more important than the welfare of children – and St. Jude’s mission to help cure cancer is an inspiration to all of us.”
