Keeping Young Halloween Trick-or-Treaters Safe in Salem
Salem, Massachusetts (PRWEB) October 26, 2016 -- Attorneys Robert E. Mazow and Kevin J. McCullough, partners in the Salem personal injury law firm of Mazow | McCullough PC, live by the motto, "The Right Lawyer Makes All the Difference." They specialize in helping people who are hurt. Just before Halloween, they are also focusing on keeping children from getting hurt.
In partnership with Salem Mayor Kimberley Driscoll and the annual Halloween “Mayor's Night Out," the Mazow team has provided safety flasher lights to prevent injury and give drivers the ability to spot youngsters at twilight and into the night. The clip-on devices were tucked into trick-or-treat bags which the Mazow team handed out to upwards of 700 children at an annual Halloween gathering place—the fountain on the Essex Street pedestrian mall.
Tourists from all over the world celebrate Halloween in Salem. It's a multi-generational event enjoyed by people of every age. Halloween presents special safety challenges to children, with hundreds of pedestrians inching their way along crowded sidewalks and crossing traffic-filled streets. "Visibility is a challenge to visitors, cyclists and drivers alike: it can make the difference between life and death, a celebration and a tragedy," says Atty. Mazow.
And city streets are not the only places where accidents occur. Neighborhood Halloween celebrations can turn into a nightmare when drivers travel dark streets, not noticing trick-or-treaters along the road until it's too late.
"We are delighted that our safety light distribution was so well received," Atty. McCullough commented. "Next year we plan to order even more. They can make the difference between life and death—not only at Halloween but also year round."
