Fort Wayne Autism Center Opening Third Area Location, Offering Applied Behavior Analysis Therapy to Children with Autism
Fort Wayne, Indiana (PRWEB) October 24, 2016 -- Fort Wayne Autism Center is excited to be expanding to a third Fort Wayne, Indian location, on the south west side of town. This location will provide intensive ABA therapy programs, Speech, and OT to children on the Autism Spectrum. ABA therapy is considered to be the ‘gold standard’ treatment for Autism Spectrum Disorders by the Surgeon General and the American Academy of Pediatrics. Therapy is provided 1:1 across a variety of settings for generalization and is always overseen by a BCBA (Board Certified Behavior Analysis).
“We are very excited to be growing into a new location,” said Fort Wayne Autism Center’s Vice President, Danielle Pelz. “An expansion to the south west part of town ensures access to our full range of programs for children with Autism in the greater Fort Wayne area. The communities we work in greatly benefit from our resources. For families, our events and seminars about ABA for Autism and our family-oriented inclusive events make a real difference in their lives!”
Research from the CDC now estimates that 1 in 68 children in the United States now have an Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASDs). Autism advocacy has resulted in not only a growing number of resources for children affected by ASDs, but also changing state laws to include coverage for a wider range of services for children affected by these disorders.
As the prevalence rate of Autism has increased, so has the need for intensive ABA therapy services in our state. Fort Wayne Autism Center currently has two locations located on the north side of Fort Wayne, providing intensive ABA therapy services, social skills groups and more to north side families. This third area location is located at 5750 Falls Drive, Suite B, Fort Wayne, Indiana, 46804, and is slated to open in December of this year. An Open House and Ribbon cutting celebration will follow in 2017.
Fort Wayne Autism Center was initially founded in 2006, by Courtney Bierman, MA BCBA, to serve the needs of families living with Autism Spectrum Disorders in Indianapolis and Fort Wayne, but also, to create a supportive, transparent, and family-like environment for employees.
