Award-Winning Casal Thaulero Wines Available On U.S. Market
New York, New York (PRWEB) October 24, 2016 -- Hailing from Abruzzo, Italy, award-winning Casal Thaulero (casalthaulero.it/en) wines are now available on the U.S. market. This highly anticipated arrival means that U.S.-based wine lovers will be able to indulge in Casal Thaulero’s variety of popular and lesser-known Italian varietals, including: Montepulciano, Trebbiano, and Pecorino.
Historically overshadowed by Italy’s well-known wine-producing regions of Tuscany and Piedmont, the Abruzzo region continues to gain recognition as a high quality producer of Montepulciano, Trebbiano, and Pecorino wines. And Casal Thaulero’s labels serve as further proof that Abruzzo has shed its antiquated reputation associated with the cheap and cheerful table wines of the 1970s and 80s, now producing premium wines reflective of its unique mountain-meets-sea terroir.
The premium Casal Thaulero wines available on the U.S. market include: Borgo Thaulero Pecorino, Borgo Thaulero Trebbiano, Borgo Thaulero Montepulciano, Thale Montepulciano, Orsetto Oro Montepulciano, Orsetto Oro Trebbiano, and the prestigious Orsetto Oro Pecorino – the light and refreshing white wine that received the 2016 Mundus Vini Grand International Wine Award for its 2015 vintage.
In addition to these labels, Casal Thaulero is excited to introduce U.S. wine drinkers to its fun and flirtatious Baciami wine – an affordable Montepulciano d’Abruzzo easily recognized by its kitschy lip print logo. The bright and fruity Baciami is slated to make its U.S. debut in November 2016.
About Casal Thaulero
The Casal Thaulero (casalthaulero.it/en) name dates back to the sixteenth century when the noble Thaulero family first planted its roots in the heart of Italy: the Abruzzo region. Their vineyards can be traced back to a 1738 marriage agreement in which Don Francesco Thaulero gave his daughter, Angela Thaulero, a dowry consisting of a laundry list of assets, a handsome gift which included everything from the trousseau to the vineyards. Unfortunately, the vineyards remained dormant for years, until the late 1800s when Duke Giovanni Thaulero began restoring the property, planting new vines, and building a grand winery. With a penchant for experimentation and innovation, the Duke wholly devoted himself to his passion for winemaking, not knowing that he was building the foundation for Abruzzen viticulture as it is known and practiced today. Although the Casal Thaulero winery changed hands in 1961, the company remains committed to its time-honored winemaking practices, continuing to marry tradition with modernity. It is this steadfast commitment to hard work and innovation that led Casal Thaulero to become the first winery in Abruzzo to bottle wine with the esteemed DOC denomination. Hailing from noble Abruzzen beginnings, Casal Thaulero wines are now known and appreciated in over 30 countries around the world. It is a winery of passion and dedication, whose core mission can be summed up in a few simple words: The grape is the center of our universe, of our territory, of our life, of our work… of our hearts.
