SRG Technology (SRGT), creator of cutting-edge personalized learning software, BlenderLearn, announced today that Georgia’s Henry County Schools will be sharing best practices and insights of the BlenderLearn Individual Learner Profiles (ILP’s) at the iNACOL Blended and Online Learning Symposium.

Representatives from Henry County Schools will be presenting, Learner Profiles Drive Personalized Instruction in Henry County Schools Classrooms, on Oct 27 from 10:00am-12:15pm at the Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center in room 221A.

SRG Technology and Henry County Schools partnered to fine tune the BlenderLearn Individual Learner Profile application to address the requirements of the Henry County Schools vision to improve teaching and learning.

“This was what we needed: technology in our schools that could support teachers by giving them easy access to crucial student information and support the standardization of best practices, while also increasing communication and student engagement,” said Aaryn Schmuhl, Henry County Schools Assistant Superintendent. “We searched for 2 years to find what we were looking for, and we were thrilled to discover that the BlenderLearn ILP fit our needs -- thanks to SRG Technology’s willingness to co-develop their existing tool.”

The BlenderLearn ILP allows for varied information such as student’s skills, interests, assessment data and learning barriers to be compiled into a unique profile for each student. The learner profiles in BlenderLearn allow students to take an active role in their education. Teachers are able to better understand who their students are and how they learn.

“Connecting students to the reality that their education is a relevant part of reaching their unique goals has been the centerpiece in making our students feel successful,” said Karen Perry, Henry County Schools Special Projects Coordinator. “In order to do this, we need to know who our students truly are. Without BlenderLearn’s ILP, all of the exciting shifts in our schools wouldn’t be coming together the way they are.”

Schmuhl agrees, "With the vision for the Learner Profiles in Henry County Schools, kids are not having school done 'to them' ...they are having school done 'WITH' them."

The iNACOL Symposium is taking place from Tuesday, October 25 through Friday, October 28. The days will be filled with workshops, keynote speakers, and an exhibit hall featuring the latest online learning technologies, software, products, and services to aid competency-based, blended and online learning environments.

BlenderLearn representatives will be providing demos of the ILP at Booth 225 during the conference.
