Richmond, VA (PRWEB) November 01, 2016 -- Strategic Risk Associates, LLC (“SRA”), a national advisory and consulting firm specializing in banks and financial services, is proud to announce our continuing expansion in the South East with the appointment of Merid Eshete as Managing Director, South East Region. Merid is based in Atlanta and a long time governance, risk and compliance (“GRC”) professional and executive with deep experience in enterprise risk management, risk advisory, M&A due diligence and integration.
“As a former Chief Risk Officer and Director, Risk Advisory Services, Merid brings a great deal of risk management and professional administration expertise as well as industry knowledge to SRA. In his various leadership roles, Merid has led the turnaround of banks’ risk management, third party risk, compliance, M&A, credit risk, IT risk management, operational risk and model risk governance programs. This work ultimately led to ongoing enhancement and removal of regulatory orders at various banks. These experiences have been a great interest to our bank and financial services clients since Merid joined us 10 months ago. With over 20 years’ experience in Governance, Risk and Compliance in banking and financial services, Merid has extensive experience in developing various Enterprise Risk Management, M&A due diligence, integration and Internal Audit. Merid joined SRA from Meta Financial Group, Inc. where he started as Chief Audit Executive and was promoted to Chief Risk Officer together serving for over eight years after successful carrier with Jefferson Wells, as Director of Risk Advisory services; experience as a Bank Examiner at Office of Comptroller of the Currency (OCC); and Accountant at US Bancorp.
Merid finished his bachelor’s degree in Information Management at Dana College, Blair, NE. He also pursued further education at the University of Saint Thomas Minneapolis, MN for his MBA with concentration in Finance, along with his Mini Master of Information Technology and Information Systems program. Aside from his education, Merid obtained Certified Risk Professional (CRP) and Certification in Risk Management Assurance (CRMA).
