R.A.K.I. Computers Recycling has been one of the oil and gas industry's go-to recycling firms for the past 25 years. Now, this e-waste recycling and data destruction company is making a commitment to do an even better job of serving these customers by joining PESA: the Petroleum Equipment and Services Association.
Experienced members of the company are jumping in feet first by joining three PESA committees. Company President Raffi Bekhor will join the Health, Safety, and Environment Committee. Amit Bekhor, Vice President of Operations, will lend his insight to the Emerging Leaders Committee. Larry Whittaker, R.A.K.I.'s General Manager, has joined the Supply Chain Committee.
"We really want to do a better job of serving our oil and gas customers," notes Raffi Bekhor, "To do this, we must remain engaged with industry professionals to learn about emerging trends and ongoing needs, particularly as they pertain to company data. This industry handles and generates enormous amounts of highly sensitive data every single day. We want our oil and gas customers to feel confident that this information can be handled securely and properly at our facility."
Raffi Bekhor is adamant that data must be properly and permanently wiped from electronic devices before these devices may be recycled. This additional level of vigilance keeps trade secrets, financial data, customer data and other important information out of the hands of those who might misuse it.
"I am so excited that we're going to be able to make some positive contributions to the PESA committees we've joined," says Amit Bekhor, who says he has greatly enjoyed meeting the oil and gas experts on the Emerging Leaders committee.
R.A.K.I.'s first act as a new PESA member was to share an exhibit at the annual meeting of the Society of Exploration Geophysicists (SEG) earlier this month.
