Faith Presbyterian Church Gives An "Envoy" To Seniors Across Sun City, Arizona

Faith Presbyterian Church and Envoy America are now working together to solve the transportation challenges of the church's senior members. The “Faith Riders” program, operated by Envoy America, gives seniors and church staff greater flexibility in scheduling safe, reliable, door-to-door, cost effective and convenient transportation.

Our church members and staff are especially relieved that the driver companions provide caring companionship and assist with getting in and out of the vehicle as well as waiting for members to attend the church services and social events.

Envoy America, a comprehensive senior ride program that offers door-to-door accompanied transportation services for its riders, announced today that the company has entered into an innovative partnership with Faith Presbyterian Church, an inclusive, welcoming and caring community in the heart of Sun City, Arizona, to solve the transportation challenges of the church and its senior members.

For many seniors in America, preserving their independence is vital to living a full, active and healthy life. This includes the ability to attend religious services, get to medical appointments, visit friends and family, and attend cultural events when they want or need to and without depending on others. Unfortunately, current transportation options are not designed with seniors in mind. Seniors have consistently experienced one major problem that prevented them from preserving their independence: they simply have no reliable or convenient way to get to and back from their appointments or events.

“Our experience with Envoy America has been extremely positive for the church’s seniors, especially those who want to become members, increase involvement or bring friends along to church,” said Reverend Kristin Rice. “It’s empowering to the senior members because now instead of being dependent on a somewhat erratic service, they can be agents who can not only do things and go places they want to go, but bring others along or provide support to friends,” added Reverend Rice.

“We are so proud to be working with Faith Presbyterian Church, who has offered to pay for our high-quality services to ensure their senior members get the care they need from the moment they leave their house until they safely return,” said Penny Karle, General Manager, Envoy America. “We started this company here in the Phoenix area to make sure every person dealing with transportation challenges has a chance to keep their independence on the road, and this is a perfect example of how the program changes lives.”
