Spinal Simplicity Receives Health Canada Medical Device License for Minuteman® Fusion System
Overland Park, Kan. (PRWEB) October 26, 2016 -- Spinal Simplicity, a medical device company based in Overland Park, Kan., that develops innovative solutions to treat complex surgical problems recently announced that it has received a Health Canada Medical Device License for its Minuteman® G3 and HA G3 spinal implants.
Todd Moseley, Co-Founder and CEO of Spinal Simplicity, stated “I am pleased to announce that our flagship products, the Minuteman G3 MIS Fusion Plate and the HA Minuteman G3 MIS Fusion Plate, have received a Class 3 license from Health Canada. This is significant because we are the only company who offers a fixation product for both MIS Lateral and MIS Posterior approaches, thereby minimizing surgical time and preserving muscle and tissue. We are excited to be able to offer our Canadian surgeons and their patients a truly minimally invasive option and proud to welcome them to our global market.”
The Minuteman is a posterior, non-pedicle supplemental fixation device, intended for use at a single level in the non-cervical spine (T1-S1). It is intended for plate fixation/attachment to spinous processes for the purpose of achieving supplemental fusion for degenerative disc disease, spondylolisthesis, trauma and tumor. The device is intended for use with bone graft material and is not intended for stand-alone use.
Spinal Simplicity received U.S. FDA clearance on the Minuteman G3 implant in January 2015, and clearance on the HA Minuteman G3 implant in August 2015. The first Minuteman received its European CE mark approval in May 2011. With successful receipt of the Canadian Medical Device License, Spinal Simplicity is pleased to enter the Canadian market to expand its presence in the global marketplace by offering cutting-edge solutions to physicians who are looking for minimally invasive spine solutions for their patients.
