United Breast Cancer Foundation (UBCF) Releases New Early Detection Public Service Announcement in NYC’s Times Square
Huntington Station, NY (PRWEB) October 27, 2016 -- UBCF recently launched a new Public Service Announcement (PSA), “2016 Early Detection Saves Lives.” The PSA is a play on the 2016 presidential campaign, airing on a prominent, 29’ x 56’ full HD screen billboard at 1500 Broadway and West 43rd Street in New York City’s Times Square now through Election Day, November 8, 2016. The spot is 10 seconds long and runs 3 times per hour, 20 hours a day. Neutron Media assisted with creative production. Times Square is the epicenter of New York City with its own visitor center and museum. It is also home to attractions such as NBC News and Saturday Night Live, Planet Hollywood, the TKTS Booth as well as numerous restaurants and hotels and of course the New Year’s celebration since 1903.
The PSA’s message highlights the importance of breast cancer awareness and early detection with a mash-up of the presidential candidate’s campaign slogans: “United Breast Cancer Foundation-MAKING AMERICAN BREASTS STRONGER TOGETHER.” Per the National Cancer Institute (NCI), an estimated 40,450 women and 440 men will lose their lives to this deadly disease this year. Early detection of breast cancer helps saves lives. The 5-year survival rates have increased from 75.2% in 1975 to 90.6% in 2008 according to the latest numbers available from the NCI. UBCF’s Breast Screening Program supports women and men with free or low-cost breast screenings to ensure that all people have access to proper medical care.
UBCF’s President and Executive Director, Ms. Stephanie Mastroianni stated, “This is milestone for UBCF; having a branding opportunity in Times Square, which is truly the center of the world. Over 26 million people visit Times Square every year – that’s nearly 50,000 per day seeing UBCF's Early Detection PSA.” Mastroianni continued with, “UBCF's logo is synonymous with early detection and helping women and families with managing breast cancer without adding stress and red tape. The new PSA airing in Times Square is helping expand that message.”
