FastCAP Systems Launches Product Line of Customizable Ultracapacitors

FastCAP’s newest product offering provides customized solutions to suit specific applications.

FastCAP Systems has announced a new product line of customizable ultracapacitors. The new line will allow customers to provide their requirements across a wide range of criteria, resulting in a specialized product designed to suit each customer’s individual needs.

FastCAP is widely known for its ability to produce high temperature, ruggedized and hermetically sealed ultracapacitors. Earlier this year, the company launched a line of ultracapacitors suited for industries that operate in extreme environments, such as energy exploration and aerospace and defense. Since the launch of the original product line, the company has received an overwhelming request for ultracapacitors from customers who require energy solutions that are not currently sold off the shelf.

"FastCAP is encouraged by the level of customer interest that we have received for customized solutions across a wide range of new applications. We have developed a broad set of capabilities for advanced ultracapacitor technology through years of government funded research and development and are happy to provide those capabilities to our customers," said John Cooley, President and CTO.

Customizable features include form factor, temperature and voltage, shock and vibration tolerance, terminals, and housing material and packaging. FastCAP’s products function in wide temperature ranges, with ultracapacitors that can withstand extremely low (-50°C to -100°C) or extremely high (165°C to 200°C+) temperatures. Additionally, FastCAP has the technology to operate ultracapacitors at high voltage, up to 3.0 volts. FastCAP continues to offer non-recurring engineering services for module and pack design.
