Institute of Finance and Management Announces AP and P2P Managers of the Year
Las Vegas, NV (PRWEB) October 28, 2016 -- The Institute of Finance and Management (IOFM) has announced the winners of the 2016 Accounts Payable Manager of the Year Awards and 2016 Procure-to-Pay Manager of the Year Awards. The annual awards recognize AP & P2P management professionals who have demonstrated bar-raising levels of leadership. This year’s honorees in the Accounts Payable category are Rita Ethridge, APM, of Gwinnett Hospital Systems and Nicole Caley, APM, of Ace Hardware. The Procure-to-Pay category honoree is Brandi Couch of Lockheed Martin Corporation.
Ethridge, Caley, and Couch were recognized alongside the honorees for AP & P2P Department of the Year Awards during an honorary luncheon ceremony on October 26th at Caesar’s Palace in Las Vegas. The ceremony kicked off the final day of the Accounts Payable & Procure-to-Pay Conference and Expo, with over 650 AP, P2P and Shared Service professionals in attendance.
Rita Ethridge, the AP Manager of the Year for organizations with less than $1 billion in annual revenue, is the Accounts Payable Supervisor at Gwinnett Hospital Systems. Coworkers describe her as a tremendous leader whose foresight has strengthened the department’s growth and development while handling a massive expansion. She’s known to be a positive morale booster who remembers birthdays and other details about those who work around her.
“Receiving this award gives me confidence that my hard work is recognized and appreciated,” said Ethridge. “My team and I have worked tirelessly in bringing live the Purchasing Card System and Invoice Scanning System. The volume of work we have is very stressful, but having the best team in the world makes it manageable.”
Nicole Caley, AP Manager of the Year for organizations over $1 billion in annual revenue, serves as the Director of Accounts Payable at Ace Hardware. Caley inherited an unmotivated team who had cycled through four directors if five years. Within two years of joining the team, Caley was able to certify her department through IOFM and transform them into role models for employee engagement throughout the organization.
“My team really deserves this,” said Caley. “While this is a grand personal accomplishment that I am grateful for, I also know that it would not be possible without such a great team. It is their dedication and commitment to teamwork and excellence that has resulted in this achievement, and I could not be more proud of them, nor could I thank them enough.”
Brandi Couch, recipient of P2P Manager of the Year, is Sr. Manager, Cash Management Solutions at Lockheed Martin Corporation. She was nominated for her implementation of their supplier portal, which has provided suppliers with 24/7 visibility to their purchase orders, invoices, and payments – boosting efficiency, cutting costs, and virtually eliminating paper from their process.
“Knowing the caliber of people who work in this industry and watching their accomplishments over the past 5 years, being selected for this award was a pleasant and unexpected surprise,” said Couch. “This is by far one of the most meaningful awards that I have ever received. I am so extremely proud to be a part of this network and humbled beyond words to have received such a prestigious award among my peers.”
All recipients were nominated by their peers online. “The common theme among our 2016 winners is strong leadership,” said Brian Cuthbert, Executive Director of IOFM. “In order to accomplish what these individuals have, it takes vision, motivation, and the innate ability to guide others.”
The AP Manager of the Year and P2P Manager of the Year Awards are part of a larger suite of IOFM Spotlight Awards, which aim to annually recognize outstanding achievement in financial operations.
