Secular Student Alliance Seeks Executive Director – Executive Search Firm McCormack + Kristel Retained for the Colombus, Ohio Nonprofit
Columbus, Ohio (PRWEB) October 31, 2016 -- The Secular Student Alliance (SSA) announced today the start of a nationwide search for the organization’s next Executive Director following the planned departure of the SSA’s founding leadership.
The Secular Student Alliance was founded in May 2000 by eight student leaders from the grassroots secular movement. It was organized under the nonprofit corporation laws of the State of Ohio on November 21, 2001. The corporation's principal office is located in Columbus, Ohio. The Secular Student Alliance (SSA) supports high school and college students who value scientific reason and the intellectual basis of secularism in its atheistic and humanistic manifestations. The SSA offers these students and their organizations a variety of resources, including leadership training and support, guest speakers, discounted literature and conference tickets, and online articles and opinions. SSA also supports advocacy, action on social justice and civic engagement by its affiliates.
Governed by an 11-person Board of Directors, the organization supports some 275 student chapters at colleges and universities as well as high schools throughout the U.S.
Through the SSA's nonpartisan nature and ability to channel young graduates into the national organizations, it builds bridges among the secular community and makes an important contribution to the promotion of science, reason and free inquiry. SSA students will in turn help build a more accepting and just society. This is the ultimate goal of the Secular Student Alliance and the task of its new leader.
SSA has retained executive search firm McCormack + Kristel to identify and recruit a panel of qualified candidates for the Executive Director position. Established in 1993, McCormack + Kristel has offices in California and New York. The firm specializes in recruiting Executive Directors and C-Suite executives for progressive nonprofit organizations nationally.
