Frontier Bank of Texas Names Patrick Johnson as New CEO
Austin, TX (PRWEB) October 31, 2016 -- Frontier Bank of Texas has appointed Patrick Johnson as its new chief executive officer. Passionate about customer service and the mission of a true community bank, Johnson will lead the strategic growth and direction of the Bastrop County-based institution.
“We will continue to do what community banks do best,” Johnson said. “We can be better, faster and more responsive than a big bank can be, and we can take care of the people and businesses that make our communities great. We know our customers by their first names, and we take care of each of them like family,” he added.
Founded in 2007, Frontier Bank of Texas has two locations, with its headquarters in Elgin and a second location in Bastrop. Many of its 34 employees have been with the bank since it opened.
In addition to Frontier’s core business in Bastrop County, Johnson has set the bank’s sights on other areas of Central Texas for continued growth. “Our goal is to accelerate the pace of the company’s growth within Bastrop and Elgin, while also reaching into the surrounding counties,” said Johnson.
Technology, he said, is one key to that reach. “We embrace technology and mobile banking as a great way to reach our customers. We can reach more people than ever before.”
One of the first things Johnson did when he joined the bank was to ensure that mobile phone banking and deposit services were up to date and free to all customers. The bank also has a keen focus on expanding remote deposit capabilities and other services important to individuals and businesses throughout Central Texas.
The ultimate value of a community bank, Johnson said, is the one-on-one relationships between client and banker, as well as between community and bank. Frontier Bank will continue that strong tradition, he said.
According to Johnson, the bank will continue its active involvement in the local communities, and not just through strong support of the not-for-profit organizations that are important to its customers and employees. “That community commitment also comes down to the types of loans we’ll make,” he added. “We are well-known for finding ways to help someone, rather than starting from no. We give each banker as much authority as they need to take care of our customers. That includes lenders with credit authority at their desks to make quick loan decisions.”
Prior to joining Frontier Bank of Texas, Johnson led the South Austin market at First State Bank Central Texas, managing more than $135 million in loan assets and $100 million in deposits with consistent, 20% year-over-year growth. There, he says, he learned the value to customers of speed, agility and responsiveness.
Elaine Martin, who helped start the bank in 2007 and most recently served as president and CEO, led the search for her replacement. Martin will continue to serve as chief operating officer on the Senior Management team. Born and raised in Elgin, Martin is valued for both her leadership and operational prowess, said Johnson. Martin pulled together an experienced team of bankers to start Frontier and relied on her past work with local banks, auditors and regulators to set up a solid bank with strong operational controls.
“Patrick is going to take our bank to the next level,” said Martin. “Once we make the critical investments we need to grow, we expect to see positive growth in assets, an increase in earnings and innovative products and services to offer our communities. We’re really excited to have him here.”
“Frontier Bank of Texas is an extremely well-run bank,” said Johnson. “My charge is to accelerate the growth.”
