“Veterans Day has a special significance for everyone throughout the Moran system,” said Peter Baldine, President of Moran Family of Brands. “We are extremely proud to have so many of our franchise owners come to us after bravely serving our country. This is a time we all thank them for their service and recognize the tremendous success they have experienced after transitioning to business ownership.”
Lowell Hester has owned the Mr. Transmission store in Sandy Springs, GA since 1998. Hester spent three years in the United States Air Force from 1966 to 1969, and served for one year in Vietnam. As a Staff Sergeant, he monitored the systems and repairs for one and two-engine jet aircrafts. He was also the crew chief on a F4 Phantom jet while serving in Cam Rahn Bay in South Vietnam in 1968. Lowell’s son, Scott, is also a Mr. Transmission franchisee in Decatur, GA and served in the Navy for eight years.
“Veterans Day is a time to reflect on all of the great men and women in our nation’s history who are the backbone of our country and are responsible for the freedom we all enjoy,” said Hester, who was named as one of Moran’s Family of Brands Franchisee of the Year for the second time earlier this year. “I was fortunate to take the technical skills as well as character traits such as leadership and teamwork that I learned from my time in the Air Force and apply them to operating my own business here at Mr. Transmission over the last 18 years.”
Moran Family of Brands is an active member of VetFran, an initiative that provides a $5,000 franchise fee discount, mentorship and training programs for any honorably discharged U.S. Veteran transition to civilian life.
