Over $1 Million Raised For Vulnerable Children In Nicaragua
Rolling Meadows, IL (PRWEB) November 01, 2016 -- ORPHANetwork is pleased to report on two major fundraising initiatives to better serve orphaned and vulnerable children in Nicaragua.
The first initiative, Party with a Purpose (PWP), just wrapped up its sixth annual event on Friday, October 7th, at The Meadows Club in Rolling Meadows, IL. During those six years, over 2,000 people have “partied” their way to transforming the lives of 1,200 children living in a community of abject poverty. This year marked a major fundraising milestone — with PWP raising over $1 million funds since it was started in 2011 by John Pitzaferro, CEO and Founder of TransNational Payments, and his wife, Stacey. Notable sponsors include TransNational Payments, Moretti’s, and many other Chicagoland businesses. Each year, one hundred percent of the proceeds from the party and the auctions support ORPHANetwork’s work caring for impoverished children in Nicaragua.
The second initiative is #HopeFor250 — ORPHANetwork’s #GivingTuesday campaign. #GivingTuesday — happening this year on November 29th — is the biggest giving day of the year worldwide. It follows Thanksgiving, Black Friday, Small Business Saturday, and Cyber Monday. #HopeFor250’s goal is to provide care and nourishment for an additional 250 vulnerable children in the least food secure regions of Nicaragua.
The Matagalpa/Jinotega regions are mountainous, rural regions of Nicaragua. Jobs are hard to find; education is limited; food sources are not reliable. ORPHANetwork is working through the local Nicaraguan Church to bring hope and change to this region.
ORPHANetwork is inviting businesses, families, friends, and anyone who wants to impact a child’s life to engage in the work by supporting #HopeFor250 — to raise $50,000 by November 29th.
ORPHANetwork currently partners with 240 Local Church Initiatives in Nicaragua to supply daily holistic care to almost 23,000 vulnerable children in the form of nutritional food, basic medical and dental care, clean water, hygiene training, and spiritual development. Additionally, ORPHANetwork cares for 367 orphaned and abandoned children through their partnerships with six orphanage homes across Nicaragua.
