Summer Winds to Sponsor Thanks4Giving Gala
Branson, MO (PRWEB) October 28, 2016 -- Summer Winds Resort Services, LLC has always been an active member of the Branson community, sponsoring charitable events such as Rock the Spectrum and the Branson Auction. That trend will continue in November as they sponsor the Boys & Girls Club of the Ozarks’ Thanks4Giving Gala.
The fifth annual Thanks4Giving Gala will take place on Nov. 10 at the Branson Convention Center in downtown Branson. Proceeds from the gala will go to the Boys & Girls Club of the Ozarks operating out of Branson, MO. The keynote speaker at the event will be Boys & Girls Club alumni and former world-class boxer Sugar Ray Leonard.
Leonard first put on a pair of boxing gloves after joining Boys & Girls Club of Washington when he was 7 years old. From there, he would go on to have a storied boxing career spanning over 20 years. Leonard won a gold medal in boxing during the 1976 Olympic Games, and was the first boxer to win world titles in five different weight classes. He was inducted into the International Boxing Hall of Fame in 1997.
“It is crucial we mold today’s youth into upstanding citizens and well-rounded men and women,” Pat Joyce, president of Summer Winds Resort Services, said. “There is no better way to impact the lives of so many children than to support Boys & Girls Club in all they do. These kids are our future, and Summer Winds is proud to help shape their future for the better.”

About Boys & Girls Club of the Ozarks
At Boys & Girls Club of the Ozarks, the mission is to inspire and enable all young people, especially those who need it most, to reach their full potential as caring, responsible and productive citizens. The Boys & Girls Club fills the gap between school and home, providing positive environments in which kids and teens have fun, participate in life-changing programs and build supportive relationships with peer and caring adults. Every day, 248,530 kids in Missouri leave school with nowhere to go. They risk being unsupervised, unguided and unsafe. The Boys & Girls Club of the Ozarks cost $30 per child, per school year. However, Boys & Girls Club will never turn a child away from their inability to pay. In 2015, the Club served over 95,000 hot meals to their members at no additional cost to them.
