Brandbank, a Nielsen owned company, is the world’s largest leading expert in the creation, management and distribution of product information for omnichannel retailing, today announces the appointment of Ray D’Aprile as North American Commercial Director.

D’Aprile’s move from 1WorldSync to Brandbank is significant, reflecting the constantly increasing potential and relevance of the UK-based company’s value proposition to brands and retailers internationally.

In his role, D’Aprile heads up the Commercial operation in North America, leading customer development as well as advising on marketing and the company’s product and growth strategies for the region overall. He recognizes that for both FMCG/CPG retailers and suppliers, online marketing is the industry’s "fastest growing business opportunity” and is determined to utilize Brandbank’s unique solutions and expertise so that the industry will get the most from its online expansion.

Speaking about his appointment, D’Aprile said: “Online content will have to be delivered in quicker, more flexible ways to meet consumers’ rapidly changing needs, as well as increasingly specific industry standards. Brandbank’s service proposition has a lot to offer the entire supply chain. Joining the business to lead change in North America and be instrumental in transforming the way suppliers and retailers meet the complex demands of online retail is an exciting challenge.”

These complex demands include retailers’ standards and consumers’ expectations, as well as industry regulations and the logistical challenge of enabling a seamless flow of content between brands, their customers, and their consumers.

D’Aprile added: “We want to see quality content being widely distributed through a variety of channels, whether that’s our own content distribution engine or peer to peer connections – so working closely with partners to bring our standards and services in line is crucial.”

Sean Wilkins, Group Commercial Director at Brandbank said: “Ray joining us is a notable win. He brings valuable expertise and experience and most significantly, he understands the specific needs of data providers, retailers and brands in North America, as well as the wider issues surrounding product marketing in a global, omnichannel context.”

“We are spearheading expansion into Northern America and Ray’s appointment provides the focus to deliver an integrated product content service that will revolutionize the processes utilized by brand manufacturers and their trading partners for sharing digital content in the U.S. I’m pleased to welcome Ray to the company and look forward to seeing his vision for the company, and the sector, take shape.”
