Costco Selects ID.me to Verify Customers for Military Discount Program

This program will allow active duty military members, veterans, reservists and their families to receive exclusive coupons when they join the membership warehouse club.
Blake Hall, the CEO and co-founder of ID.me, is a former Army Ranger who merited a Bronze Star with Valor for his military service during the Iraq War. He said that the partnership with Costco is a chance for both brands to give back to the military community.

Costco members who verify their military status through Troop ID will receive three free products valued at more than $50 when they join Costco as new members. To take advantage of this offer, verified users must purchase a Costco Membership Activation Certificate online and bring it to their local Costco.
Costco’s 87 million members enjoy multiple tiers of membership. A Gold Star or Business Membership is $55 a year. An Executive Membership is an additional $55 upgrade fee a year. The military membership offer allows ID.me users to purchase two Membership Activation Certificates that can be used to purchase one Executive Membership.

ID.me previously partnered with Costco to provide discounts to police officers, firefighters, and EMTs through First Responder ID. The success of this program spurred Costco to explore extending a similar offer to the military.
