This Saturday, November 5, software services and IT company, Xpanxion, is hosting the first annual Paint the Town Red Fundraising Banquet to raise funds for the IT, Business, and Marketing department of Kearney High School. This event will include live music, dinner, cocktails, and a silent auction. Through Paint the Town Red, Xpanxion hopes to promote education in IT in the Kearney community to give our youth a better future. In an effort to support the event’s cause, local Kearney business, Cash-Wa, donated a $1000 scholarship to a graduating senior of Kearney High School who has shown leadership and promise to complete secondary education.
The recipient of this scholarship is Macie Yeutter. Macie was chosen as the scholarship recipient for her demonstrated drive for education, involvement in her community, and plan to attend a four-year university to get a degree in Business or Engineering. Macie has achieved a 4.0 GPA throughout high school, and this month received the Golden K Kiwanis Student of the Month award. Her involvement in Key Club, position as Treasurer for Young Americans for Freedom, and participation in a Spanish Immersion program to Costa Rica, make her an ideal candidate for this scholarship.
When asked to describe her career and education goals, Macie said, “I aim to be successful in whatever I do. I do not yet know where I will go or what I will do in the future, however, I do know that I want to earn a degree and find a job that I love. This is the most important because I believe that those who are most successful do what they love, and I hope to achieve this.”
Macie will be honored at the fundraising banquet this Saturday.
All proceeds of the banquet will go to Kearney Public Schools Foundation and are earmarked for the IT, Business, and Marketing department of Kearney High School. For more information on the Kearney banquet, or to buy tickets, visit http://www.PaintKearneyRed.com.
