The group of companies is the nation's largest stand-alone dental benefits provider in the exchanges.

Delta Dental of California and its affiliates today announced their recommitment to participate in 16 state and federal public exchanges for plan year 2017.

The open enrollment period for plan year 2017 is November 1, 2016, to January 31, 2017.

In 2016, about 250,000 people purchased either DeltaCare® USA, a prepaid/dental HMO-type program, or Delta Dental PPOSM plans, which allow enrollees to get covered services from both in- and out-of-network providers. Enrollees typically have the lowest out-of-pocket costs by visiting in-network providers.

“We participate in the public exchanges to give uninsured individuals and small business owners a low-cost choice of affordable coverage for their dental care needs,” said Anthony S. Barth, president and CEO of Delta Dental of California and its affiliated companies. “Our premiums are as low as possible while still keeping desired benefits, and any changes we made this year are representative of that.”
