Sober Living Organization Launches Women's Program
Asheville, North Carolina (PRWEB) November 03, 2016 -- Real Recovery, an adventure-based sober living program for young men, launched a women’s substance abuse outpatient and intensive outpatient program on October 17. The program aims to connect women with each other as they step out of isolation and into recovery from substance use issues and often additional mental health challenges and complex trauma.
“We are pleased to be offering a comprehensive women’s program that truly meets women’s needs by offering somatic-based therapy through experiential and trauma-informed interventions,” said Real Recovery’s clinical coordinator, Sarah Hollis, LPC, LCAC.
Real Recovery services are based on the foundational principles of prioritizing safety, seeking emotional regulation and maintaining healthy relational balance. Each SAIOP group is facilitated by a licensed therapist who specializes in treating mental health, anxiety, trauma and substance use disorders. The program consists of nine hours of weekly group sessions, as well as individual and family therapy, case management needs, access to therapists during business hours for any life coaching needs and treatment team staffing sessions with additional providers serving the client.
The criteria for SAIOP admission is 18 years old or older with a diagnosis of substance use disorder and an American Society of Addiction Medicine care level of II. Clients must have a mental health co-occurring disorder to be considered for admission and will need to have or be attempting to establish stable housing and maintain sobriety while in SAIOP. Real Recovery is now accepting referrals from private therapists, social workers in the community, organizations and sober living facilities, as well as self-referrals.
When the client has graduated from the SAIOP program, she is able to transition to outpatient services to attend a maintenance group for 1-2 weekly sessions and maintain individual and family therapy as she transitions slowly back into her sober life. The Real Women’s SAIOP group times are Tuesdays and Thursdays, 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., and on Sundays from 1:00-4:00 p.m.
