Sporturf Dealer, Worldwide Turf Canada, Installs Georgian College Field
Dalton, GA (PRWEB) November 03, 2016 -- Sporturf™ Business Director, Matt Riggs, is pleased to announce the first installation of a FIFA certifiable field installed by a Sporturf™ dealer. Worldwide Turf Canada was hired by Georgian College of Barrie, Ontario to complete the high profile project.
Steve Halbert, of Worldwide Turf Canada, worked with school administrators to choose Duration 50 paired with a cutting edge Thermoplastic Elastomer (TPE) infill and laid over a Thermagreen pad for increased performance and resiliency. This combination was chosen due to the outstanding performance it would provide to the student athletes of Georgian College.
Sporturf™ has teamed with Sit-In Sport of Radici Pietro Industries & Brands S.p.A. as a manufacturing partner to produce the Duration Series in the Americas. Constructed with a technologically advanced monofilament fiber, the Duration series is the highest performing soccer surface available. Duration is available in two configurations that can qualify for FIFA certifications. Both have unique performance characteristics that are designed to fit the varied needs of today’s athletes.
What makes this project special is it is one of the first FIFA certifiable installations for Worldwide and it is also the first install in their hometown of Barrie. Halbert worked diligently to locally source as many aspects of this project as possible to keep with the hometown spirit.
Not only was this installation primarily locally staffed it was also mainly funded by the Georgian College Students’ Association (GCSA). Their donation is part of a 10-year, $7.2-million pledge by the GCSA to improve the student experience at all Georgian campuses.
